Michael Collins
Private real estate fund manager Origin Investments is continuing to grow its network with the appointment of Michael Collins as managing director, head of investor relations. Collins has previously served in capital formation roles with Easterly Asset Management, Kennedy Wilson, The Blackstone Group, and Eaton Vance.
Collins joined Origin with the goal of further expanding Origin’s reach within the network of advisers whose clients seek income, appreciation, and tax efficiency. In this newly created position, Origin said Collins will use his considerable experience and contacts to mentor and develop the firm’s team of investor relations professionals.
“Over the next three years, our goal is to double the size of our equity under management by focusing our efforts on the [registered investment adviser] channel, and Mike is a critical step toward achieving this goal,” said Michael Episcope, co-chief executive officer of Origin Investments.
“He has been in the business for more than 25 years, is a proven leader, and has a far-reaching network. We couldn’t be more excited to have him join Origin,” added Episcope.
For the past 10 years, Collins has held head of distribution roles, leading sales and marketing initiatives – most recently at Easterly Asset Management from 2019 to 2024 and previously at Kennedy Wilson from 2015 to 2019. At Kennedy Wilson, he was also a member of the firm’s investment committee. Earlier in his career Collins was a principal at The Blackstone Group (2011 to 2015) and a senior vice president at Eaton Vance (2005 to 2011).
“Joining Origin is incredibly exciting because of the firm’s already strong foundation and diverse menu of existing private real estate funds designed to grow and preserve wealth,” Collins said. “We don’t have to start from scratch in terms of the investment opportunities we offer or the team of professionals supporting them.”
Collins earned an MBA from the University of Rochester’s Simon Business School after earning both a Master of Engineering degree and undergraduate degree from the University at Buffalo.
Origin and its affiliates have four open investment vehicles designed to provide investors with tax-efficient income and appreciation:

- Origin Opportunity Zone Fund III, which offers tax-advantaged investments in development projects with high growth potential; and
- Origin Exchange, which provides an opportunity for investors to utilize a 1031 exchange to transition from active to passive investments through institutional-quality Delaware statutory trusts without high fees.
Additionally, through its affiliate Origin Credit Advisers, a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission-RIA, the Strategic Credit Fund provides yield-focused multifamily debt investments designed to deliver qualified purchasers risk-adjusted income with capital protection.
Founded in 2007, Origin Investments helps high-net-worth investors, family offices and registered investment advisers grow and preserve wealth by providing tax-efficient real estate solutions through private funds. As of June 30, 2024, the firm reported $2.8 billion in assets under management.
