GReminders on streamlining meetings for advisors

One of the most time-consuming tasks for an advisor centers on meetings — scheduling with clients, prospects and staff as well as setting meeting reminders, taking notes and sending out summaries afterward. There’s also a growing number of AI-based apps for each of these tasks, like Calendly for automated scheduling and Otter.ai for meeting dictation services.

But the proliferation of services also means advisors have to stack more and more tools on top of each other in their tech stack. A new survey conducted by Financial Planning found that 40% of 270 respondents in wealth management said “modernizing [the] tech stack” was the No. 1 reason their firms were pushing staff to prepare for adopting AI tools.

With so many new technology developments specifically in AI, streamlining the tech stack is also a core focus for GReminders, an end-to-end meeting management software provider for financial advisors. The software sits as an overlay to an advisor’s CRM system so that it can house all the external applications — from booking a meeting, setting alerts, taking notes and providing summaries — essentially in one digital place.

“A smaller technology stack that is tightly integrated is significantly better, in our opinion, than a whole bunch of different systems that loosely talk to each other or maybe they don’t talk to each other and their data islands,” said GReminders founder and CEO Arnold Hsu. “So we try to do this all under one roof.”

This mini profile is part of a series spotlighting vendors in order to help advisors and their firms make informed technology decisions.

Name: GReminders

Website: greminders.com

Size of GReminders: There are about 2,000 advisors on the GReminders platform, Hsu said.

Products and services offered: GReminders is a platform that helps advisors automate all of their meetings, both internal and external with clients — from identifying a meeting with new prospects, booking, to transcribing notes and streamlining the information into the firm’s record systems.

The system is also integrable with most CRM platforms used by advisors, as well as with Microsoft Outlook and Google Calendar.

Who GReminders aims to serve: GReminders primarily serves financial advisors and hybrid RIAs when it comes to their wealth management side of the business.

What problems GReminders is trying to solve: To streamline the everyday management of planning meetings for advisors, GReminders applies AI in several ways, including generating a pre-meeting brief for advisors based on previous notes and client information from their CRM, so advisors are better prepared for meetings.

GReminders focuses on automation capabilities, particularly in sending meeting reminders, summaries and tasks to check off after the meeting. For example, it can send an automatic notice to the client when it’s time to meet with their advisor on a quarterly or annual basis to go over portfolio performance.

“We know when the last time the review was because we have that information or it’s in the CRM. We automatically reach out to them and ask for the end-client to effectively book a call and we’ll continue to follow up automatically until they actually take that action,” Hsu said. “That alone takes a significant amount of time off of the administrator to actually get that done.”

How GReminders is different from competitors: There are many individual AI-based tools like apps that help automate scheduling a meeting, such as Calendly, or AI dictation services like Fireflies.ai or Otter.ai. But GReminders is different in that it combines all of these offerings on one platform that can be streamlined into an advisor’s operating systems such Redtail, Wealthbox, Salesforce or Hubspot.

“What sets us apart is really two things: One, is this complete end-to-end solution. And then secondarily, the deep integrations that we have with the systems that advisors use every day,” Hsu said.

What it costs: GReminders has a clear pricing structure on its website. There is a free subscription service that has limited offerings, like a cap of 100 email reminders per month. And then the paid subscriptions start at $8 a month for an individual and up to $99 per month for a business. These are all the starting point costs which can increase based on add-ons and enterprise size.

What’s next in development: Hsu said GReminders is working on expanding its integrations into home systems, similar to Zoom or Google Meet, but on the VoIP side. The firm is also working on integrating applications that automate PowerPoint and deck builders for pre-meeting and post-meeting summaries.

“We’re working a lot more on personalizations so that the outputs, the briefs, the summaries and so forth can be more specific to the type of event or meeting that is being held,” he said. All of this will be a “huge lift and assistance for the people who are driving those meetings and calls.”
