Several more industry powerhouses have made their alternative investment strategies available to advisers through the CAIS platform for advisers. Inland Real Estate Investment Corporation and J.P. Morgan Asset Management are the latest to announce strategic relationships with the alts platform.
Founded in 2009, CAIS offers independent financial advisers end-to-end technology solutions across the pre-trade, trade, and post-trade lifecycle of alternative investments. It serves over 2,000 wealth management firms that support more than 50,000 financial advisers who oversee approximately $6 trillion in end-client assets.
Inland is an industry leader in tax-advantaged real estate securitized 1031 exchange transactions, sponsoring 721 exchanges, opportunity zones, private placements, and real estate investment trusts. Since inception, Inland and its affiliates have completed 651 real estate investment programs serving more than 490,000 investors across all commercial real estate sectors.
J.P. Morgan is a global leader in alts, including real estate, private equity, private credit, liquid alternative products, infrastructure, transport, hedge funds, and forestry. First, Phil Graham, external vice president of strategic relations for Inland Securities Corporation expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership. “CAIS is at the forefront of alternative investments’ technology-driven operating efficiencies for more than 2,000 wealth management firms and we are thrilled to embark on our relationship with them. As demand increases for alternative investments, particularly tax advantaged real estate solutions, CAIS provides us with the ability to offer a streamlined educational and investment process to the adviser community.”
“This [Inland] collaboration highlights the power of our technology in expanding adviser access to leading alternative investment strategies, while empowering Inland Investments to broaden their investor base and drive business growth,” said Brad Walker, chief client and product development officer at CAIS.
J.P. Morgan further elaborated, with advisers top of mind, on the critical venture. “The broadening access of alternative investments is an undeniable trend reshaping the investment landscape,” said Shawn Khazzam, head of private wealth alternatives at J.P. Morgan Asset Management. “Interest in the asset class is continuing to grow as a way for investors to diversify and strengthen portfolios. It’s crucial that we equip advisers with access to our innovative products, enabling them to craft strategies that align with the evolving needs and goals of their clients.”
According to CAIS, an evergreen private equity vehicle focused on small and mid-market secondaries and co-investments is available today on CAIS Marketplace with plans in place to scale the partnership and add additional J.P. Morgan strategies to the platform over time. J.P. Morgan Asset Management will also gain access to CAIS’ online education platform, digital marketing support, and integrations with leading custodians, reporting providers, and fund administrators. Additionally, the firm will benefit from a custom analytics dashboard designed to optimize their platform engagement, pipeline management, and sales efforts.
“We are thrilled to partner with J.P. Morgan Asset Management, a firm whose long-term vision is closely aligned with CAIS’ own mission to transform alternative investments for the wealth management ecosystem through unparalleled experiences,” added Walker about the J.P. Morgan collaboration.
Inland and J.P. Morgan are the latest in a series of new managers adding alternative strategies to the CAIS platform, coming on the heels of nearly 20 new and expanded partnerships with alternative asset managers in 2024. The latest announcement also reflects an expansion of the CAIS and J.P. Morgan partnership, with J.P. Morgan’s investment banking division operating as a structured notes issuer on the CAIS platform.
