WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The United States is in the process of organizing government-chartered helicopter flights to evacuate Americans from Haiti amid rising violence, the State Department said on Wednesday.
State Department deputy spokesperson Vedant Patel said the helicopters were expected to make multiple trips from Port-au-Prince to Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.
