SAN JOSE, Calif. – Cadence Design (NASDAQ:) Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CDNS) and NVIDIA (NASDAQ:) have expanded their multi-year collaboration, introducing two new solutions aimed at revolutionizing design processes across various industries. The announcement made today highlights the Cadence Reality Digital Twin Platform and the integration of NVIDIA’s generative AI tools into Cadence’s Orion molecular design platform.

The Cadence Reality Digital Twin Platform is a new comprehensive solution that creates a virtual model of data centers to facilitate their design, simulation, and optimization. By leveraging AI, high-performance computing, and physics-based simulation, this platform is expected to improve data center energy efficiency by up to 30%.

Moreover, its integration with NVIDIA Omniverse is set to accelerate design and simulation workflows by 30 times through enhanced data interoperability and rendering.

In the field of pharmaceuticals, Cadence’s cloud-native Orion platform will incorporate NVIDIA’s generative AI tool, BioNeMo, and microservices for drug discovery. This collaboration aims to speed up the drug discovery process by enabling pharmaceutical companies to generate and evaluate design hypotheses more quickly and reliably.

The integration is designed to support the design of various therapeutic modalities, including biologics, peptides, and small molecules.

Dr. Anirudh Devgan, president and CEO of Cadence, emphasized the transformative impact of the collaboration on data center design and drug discovery. Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA, also highlighted the potential of digital twin and generative AI technologies to benefit various sectors.

The announcement builds on the longstanding partnership between Cadence and NVIDIA, which includes advancements in AI-driven digital and custom IC design, hardware and software verification, and system design and analysis.

This new chapter supports Cadence’s Intelligent System Design strategy, which aims to assist customers in developing differentiated products for markets such as hyperscale computing, 5G communications, automotive, mobile, aerospace, consumer, industrial, and healthcare.

This news is based on a press release statement and reflects the ongoing efforts by Cadence and NVIDIA to lead in AI-driven design innovation.
