SUZHOU, China – Scivita Medical Technology Co., Ltd., a China-based medical device company, has expanded its strategic cooperation with Boston Scientific Corporation (NYSE: NYSE:), aiming to advance the development and distribution of single-use endoscopes. This collaboration is expected to enhance the availability of these devices globally, addressing the rising concern of cross-infection in traditional endoscopy.

Single-use videoscopes, which merge diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities in endoscopic procedures, are emerging as a promising solution to mitigate the risk of cross-contamination. The global market for these devices was valued at USD 0.5 billion in 2020 and is projected to reach USD 9.2 billion by 2030, according to Frost & Sullivan.

The expanded relationship between Scivita Medical and Boston Scientific will focus on the co-development of future endoscopic devices and explore global distribution opportunities for Scivita Medical’s single-use endoscope and imaging devices. This arrangement is designed to bring Scivita Medical’s products to a broader audience, reaching more hospitals and patients not only in China but worldwide.

Mike Jones, senior vice president and president of Endoscopy at Boston Scientific, expressed enthusiasm for the extended partnership, which is anticipated to provide physicians with more device options across various geographies. Dr. Chin To, Co-founder, General Manager, and Chief Technology Officer of Scivita Medical, also welcomed the deepened collaboration, stating it aligns with their globalization strategy and commitment to delivering high-quality endoscope solutions globally.

Scivita Medical, established in 2016, specializes in minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment solutions, with a focus on the research, development, and commercialization of medical endoscopes and related products. The company has R&D centers in China and Japan and has developed a unique technology platform that supports a comprehensive portfolio of endoscopic products.
