Hole in one: artist-designed mini golf course heads to London – The Art Newspaper

Fancy a round of golf? The playable exhibition The Art of Mini Golf rolls into London next month, taking over Battersea Arts Centre (17 June-26 July) featuring nine interactive golf hole artworks designed by Turner Prize nominee Delaine Le Bas, the US filmmaker Miranda July and the Japanese artist Saeborg, among others. The UK version of the sporty touring show, organised by the Rising festival in Melbourne, has an extra work courtesy of Danielle Brathwaite-Shirley, who made waves last year with her exhibition at the Serpentine in London.

Brathwaite-Shirley, a Berlin-based artist and video game designer, will design the ninth hole artwork entitled Enough is Enough which “uses humour to access the anxieties and complex feelings of the participant around what they might gain and lose in this brave new world”, says a statement. Meanwhile, players can use a square ball in Le Bas’ contribution Square peg, round hole, NO! And don’t miss Saeborg’s Animal Golf, which invites players to swap a traditional putter for a strap-on latex animal tail.
