The Generation Essential (NYSE:TGE; LSE: TGE), including The Art Newspaper and L’Officiel, is looking for experienced, energetic, and proactive advertising sales executives to lead its commercial activities in Asia, including China, Hong Kong SAR, Singapore, South Korea and elsewhere across the region.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for selling into the company’s print and digital platforms as well as into integrated campaigns, both prints and/ or digital platforms, to new and existing clients in Asia. As part of an elite team, this individual is responsible for the entire sales process including establishing a pipeline, writing proposals, coordinating ad materials and concluding media packages with clients. The candidate should maintain flexibility and generate creative ideas to devise plans for different types of clients and be seeking new streams of revenue outside the standard monthly print and digital cycle.
This is a full-time position (9:30am to 5:30pm business hours). Business travel will be required as needed.
Base salary based on experience. Commission package additional on generated sales.
Key responsibilities
Service and nurture the existing client base; develop and build new client relationships; identify opportunities for revenue growth. Develop and further diversify the roster of active clients, building on a base that includes international auction houses, commercial galleries, media agencies, fashion brands, luxury brands, museums and institutions, fairs and events, fashion shows and exhibitions, industry service providers and partners
Seek out opportunities to develop new profitable initiatives via events, supplements, contract publishing, fair partnerships, fashion shows, new clients, and digital revenue streams
Develop and deliver creative, “thinking-outside-the-box” sponsorship proposals around existing and new products
Work closely with the editorial team and commercial team in rest of the world to develop new supplements, events, digital products and other revenue-driving opportunities
Work closely with the editorial, partnerships, and subscriptions teams to develop content ideas and new revenue streams; identify opportunities for subscriptions and multi-faceted commercial partnerships
Work with Headquarters (HQ) and other regions of sales team to create all supporting sales collateral and pitch presentations
Liaise with the finance team to ensure efficient delivery of after-sale processing, overseeing client invoicing requirements and providing support and working closely with the finance and controls team of HQ
Regularly attend and represent The Art Newspaper and L’Officiel at industry and partner events (international travel required as needed or decided by management)
Key skills and experience
- At least three years’ experience in multi-channel advertising sales is expected.
- Proficiency with Filemaker is preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft suite is a plus.
- Experience within the arts, fashion and/ or luxury sectors is valuable.
